We can expect quick changes in the next future. One very exiting topic is the memory outsourcing. Thrun, the designer of Google self-driving car, says that Memory, the thing that defines who we are, what makes us human, that distinguishes us intellectually, and gives us a narrative sense of our own lives will “be outsourced”. That world, says, Thrun, “is not very far away”.
Thrun means that the singularity will not appear at once. “It’s not a one-time event; it’s a continuum that is well under way. It’ll be hard to tell how much of it is already happening. In many ways, computers outsmart people today.”
